Osteoporosis Month 2016

Fractures from osteoporosis are more common than heart attacks, strokes, and breast cancer combined. At least 1 in 3 women and 1 in 5 men will suffer from an osteoporotic fracture during their lifetime.

November marks the start of Osteoporosis Month and as a reminder to stay active and get in your daily dose of calcium! Osteoporosis is often called the “silent thief” because bone loss can occur without symptoms and at any age.

Having a conversation with your doctor about your bone density and what you can do to prevent Osteoporosis could prevent you from a future hip-replacement.
